Azithromycin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It is a macrolide-type antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

- acute bacterial sinusitis (adequately diagnosed)
− acute bacterial otitis media (adequately diagnosed)
− pharyngitis, tonsillitis
− acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (adequately diagnosed)
− mild to moderately severe community acquired pneumonia
− skin and soft tissue infections
− uncomplicated Chlamydia trachomatis urethritis and cervicitis

the dose is 1500 mg, to be administered as 500 mg per day for three consecutive days.
Method of administration
Azithromycin Tablets should be given as a single daily dose.

Cefpodoxime is indicated for the treatment of patients infected with susceptible strains of micro-organisms which include a wide range of gram-positive & gram-negative bacteria.
(1) Lower respiratory tract infection: Acute community-acquired pneumonia, Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis;
(2) Upper respiratory tract infection: Acute otitis media, Acute maxillary sinusitis, Pharyngitis, Tonsillitis;
(3) Sexually transmitted diseases: Acute uncomplicated urethral & cervical gonorrhea, Acute ano-rectal infection in woman caused by N. gonorrhoeae;
(4) Uncomplicated urinary tract infection: Cystitis, Pyuria;
(5) Skin & soft tissue infections: Furuncle, Cellulitis, Subcutaneous abscess, infectious atheroma & periproctal abscess
(6) Enteric fever.

Pneumonia: 200mg every 12hrs for 14 days.

Use susp. <2 months: not recommended.
2 months–12yrs: Acute otitis media: 5mg/kg (max 200mg) every 12hrs for 5 days.
Pharyngitis/tonsillitis: 5mg/kg (max 100mg) every 12hrs for 5–10 days.
Sinusitis: 5mg/kg (max 200mg) every 12hrs for 10 days.

Dry Syrup: Bottle of 30ml, 50mg/5ml

It is a bactericidal antibiotic, kills bacteria by interfering in the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. Cefixime is highly stable in the presence of beta-lactamase enzymes. Cefixime has marked in-vitro bactericidal activity against a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms including beta lactamase producers.

This tablet is one of the combination of cefixime (cephalosporin) and ofloxacin (fluoroquinolone) and has unique dual mode of action i.e in this combination ofloxacin prevents nucleic acid synthesis of bacteria and cefixime inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.It is useful for killing thr ESBL (Extended Spectrum Beta-lactamase) bacteria. Both works instantly and synergistically and gives better patient compliance.

Ciprofloxacin is a synthetic 4-quinolone derivative with bactericidal activity against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative organism. It is active against most gram-negative aerobic bacteria including Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Ciprofloxacin is also active against gram-positive aerobic bacteria including penicillinase producing, non-penicillinase producing and methicillin resistant Staphylococci.

Severe systemic infections: e.g; septicemia, bacteremia, peritonitis, Respiratory tract infections, Urinary tract infections, Skin and soft tissue infections, Gastrointestinal infections, Infections of the biliary tract, Intra-abdominal infections, Bone and joint infections, Pelvic infections, Eye, ear, nose and throat infections, Gonorrhoea.

Levofloxacin belongs to the class of medicines known as quinolone antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, this medicine will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections. This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually every 8 or 12 hours. Drink plenty of fluids while using this medication unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
